Wisteria Flower Tunnel

 

This amazing place is located at Kawachi Fuji Garden in the city of Kitakyushu, Japan and is known famously as the Wisteria Flower Tunnel. This tunnel house and incredible number of 150 Wisteria flowering plants of different species. Wisteria is a type of flowering plant present in the pea family, known as Fabaceae, and it consists of ten different types of woody climbing vines. These vines can climb up to 20m of the ground and spread out for 10m. The flowers present are about 10 to 18cm long and constitute of colors like that of pink, violet, white or purple. There are some flowers in this family that are also fragrant.

The main attraction of the Wisteria Flower Tunnel is the feature of visitors being able to walk down the Flower Tunnel while it is in full bloom and exploding with color. There is, however an entry fee as it is a private garden. The best time to visit this place is in the months of April and May,especially at the time at the end of month of April. An annual festival is held at the Kawachi Fuji Gardens mainly at the end of the Golden week from 27 to 29 of April.
